According to a 2023 survey by Rakuten Insight on inflation in Malaysia, around 71 percent of respondents aged 45 to 54 years old indicated that they reduced recreational activities such as dining out, going to bars, cinema, etc., to cope with inflation. Meanwhile, 67 percent of survey participants from the same age group stated that they bought cheaper groceries.
