In the beginning of 2022, the IFOP polling institute asked men between the ages of 18 and 24 if, in the context of a couple relationship, they would refuse to share certain aspects of the contraceptive burden that usually falls on women. It appears that 17 percent of them would refuse to share the costs of contraception and her menstrual cycle with their partner. In addition, nearly one-third would refuse to take responsibility for contraception within the couple through regular treatments, such as the male pill or heating underwear.

The question was phrased by the source as follows: "In a relationship, would you personally refuse to...?
- Share with your partner the costs related to contraception and her menstrual cycle (e.g.: pill, sanitary protection...)
- Do not ask your partner to have sex during her period
- Avoid having sex without a condom with your partner when your couple do not have any other means of contraception
- Take responsibility for contraception within the couple by taking regular treatments (e.g.: male pill, heated underwear...)
- Take responsibility for contraception within the couple by taking permanent treatments (e.g.: vasectomy...)"
