As of July 2023, more than one-third (35 percent) of parents and guardians surveyed in Brazil said they bought a product their children aged nine to 17 asked for after accessing an online ad during the 12 months preceding the interviews. According to the same study, nearly 50 percent of online children in Brazil accessed ads inappropriate for their age.
