Revenue of home textile sector India FY 2022

In financial year 2022, the estimated revenue from exports of home textiles amounted to 4.8 billion U.S. dollars from India. In comparison, the domestic revenue of home textiles was 3.2 billion dollars in the same period.

Home textile export

India offers a huge variety of home textiles from bed linens to carpets and rugs. The value of home textiles exported from India was the highest in financial year 2022 as compared to the previous years. However, the export of home textiles is likely to contract in the financial year 2023 due to a decrease in demand. Moreover, rugs and carpets were the most exported segment in the home textiles sector.

Textile retail

The variety of Indian textile products has made a significant contribution to the "Made in India” label's global recognition and localization. The most popular textile among wholesale and retail markets across the country is cotton because of its versatility. Within the sector, Vardhman Textiles was one of the leading textile-producing companies in India with a net sale of over 93 billion Indian rupees in 2022.
