The majority of Japanese consumers noticed a change in their consumption habits in response to price inflation, as revealed in a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in March 2023. To cope with the recent price hikes, 74 percent of respondents cut back on unnecessary expenses. Only six percent did not change their consumption habits.
