According to the National Family and Health Survey (NFHS), during 2019 and 2021 about 96 percent of rural households in India had access to electricity which is an improvement from 83 percent in 2015-16. In contrast, access to clean cooking fuel among rural household stood at 43 percent during 2019 and 2021.
