In a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in March 2023, about 60 percent of respondents in Hong Kong aged 55 years and above stated that they actively sought out deals to cope with inflation, such as using coupons and buying discounted items. Meanwhile, 56 percent of respondents in the same age group reported that they started buying cheaper groceries.
