In a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in March 2023, about 58 percent of respondents in China aged 55 years and above stated that they actively sought out deals to cope with inflation, such as using coupons and buying discounted items. In comparison, 69 percent of respondents aged 16 to 24 years reported a decrease in the frequency of leisure activities.
