A survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in March 2023 found that 75 percent of female respondents and 72 percent of male respondents in Hong Kong reported that rising inflation affected their ability to pay for basic necessities such as food, clothing, and healthcare. Meanwhile, 44 percent of male respondents and 45 percent of female respondents mentioned their inability to save due to inflation.
