When shopping online abroad, 80 percent of Chinese consumers prefer to buy products directly from the brand's website, according to a 2022 survey. In contrast, only 36 percent of e-shoppers in Japan felt the same. The preference for direct-to-consumer (D2C) platforms for cross-border purchases stood at 61 percent in the U.S. and Australia.
