Sales of Ceconomy 2015/16-2022/23, by region

Although sales in Western and Southern Europe and other regions have decreased slightly from the previous financial year, Ceconomy's sales in the DACH region as well as Eastern Europe saw an increase since their FY 2021/2022. In their FY 2022/2023, the company recorded around 12 billion euros and seven billion euros in sales in the DACH region and Western and Southern Europe, respectively. Ceconomy is one of the leading consumer electronics retailers in Europe.

Ceconomy through retail stores and online channels

Headquartered in Düsseldorf, Ceconomy was first founded in 1966 as Metro Group. In 2016, the company reorganized and stores like MediaMarkt and Saturn were incorporated into Ceconomy. Ceconomy’s sales remained somewhat stable in recent years, with almost 22 billion euros generated in revenues in their 2021/2022 financial year. The consumer electronics and household appliance retailer operates through retail stores and online channels. In their 2022/23 FY, online sales amounted to approximately 4.94 billion euros.

Germany and Italy lead Ceconomy’s way

Ceconomy’s customers have a wide range of choices when deciding to visit a retail store. Indeed, the company counts roughly 1,000 stores in Europe, with almost 400 of them being in Germany and 122 in Italy. The two countries also count the highest number of Ceconomy’s employees, over 18.6 thousand and around 4.3 thousand, respectively.
