According to a survey conducted in April 2023, 12 percent of adults in the United States thought that tech companies should be completely immune to lawsuits related to content found on their platforms. Additionally, 67 percent of U.S. adults felt that they should be legally liable for some or all content published on their platforms.
Moreover, 45 percent of adults in the U.S. reported having heard nothing at all about Section 230, a legal provision that provides immunity for companies in relation to user-generated content posted on their services.
