GHG emission projections from the industry sector in the U.S. and China 2020-2050
China's industry greenhouse gas emissions amounted to 5.3 billion tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (GTCO₂e) in 2021. Meanwhile, emissions from the industry sector in the United States were less than one GTCO₂e that same year. According to World Data Lab, industry-related greenhouse gas emissions in both countries are forecast to experience a downward trend in the following decades under a “business-as-usual” scenario.
