The Deutschlandticket that is being introduced in Germany from May 2023, is showing potential to draw new customers to public transport. Interest in a Deutschlandticket costing 49 euros or more was highest among survey respondents who already owned a public transport season ticket, with 68% of that group reporting an interest in the initiative. However, of those without a season ticket, nearly a third reported that they would be willing to pay 49 euros or more for a Deutschlandticket.
