According to a survey conducted among U.S. adults in February 2023, around 39 percent of respondents claimed they would not trust tools of artificial intelligence (AI) powered search engines to respect their data privacy - also considered one of the most important features when selecting one of these tools. Overall, some of the biggest mistrusts of the interviewees were regarding bias and misinformation, as more than 30 percent of adults in the United States claimed they would not trust these tools to provide impartial or truthful results in search results or advertisements.
