In the fiscal year ended March 2021, most of India's electric vehicle startup investments were in four-wheeler manufacturers, typically including electric passenger car makers. These represented 56.6 percent of the 1.8 billion U.S. dollars investment in EV startups recorded in the country. Electric two-wheelers held over a quarter of investments during that same fiscal year and were, along with electric three-wheelers, the most popular EV type in the country in the fiscal year ending in March 2022.
