Share of people who bought media products online in Portugal 2021, by format

In 2021, almost 40 percent of respondents in Portugal declared having bought physical, digital, or streaming services of films, series, and sports programs over the internet. The share of those who opted for the digital version of these products amounted to 35 percent, while the share of those who chose the physical format of the products was only 2.5 percent.
This tendency favoring the digital format is also witnessed regarding music, but is opposed when it comes to books, magazines, and newspapers, where the share of those who opted only for the physical format was 27 percent, while the share of those who preferred the digital format only was seven percent.
