A survey conducted on iftar gatherings during Ramadan in Indonesia in 2024 found that people were more likely to attend an iftar gathering where their closest people such as family and close friends were present, with respondent shares of 76 and 71 percent, respectively. This might be attributed to a stronger sense of social comfort and enjoyment shared by these groups.
