In 2023, the highest number of asylum applications from Turkey were made to Germany among all European countries. In that year, nearly 62,600 people from Turkey applied for asylum in Germany. The following leading countries were France and the Austria for Turkish asylum seekers, receiving almost 12,400 and 7,800 applications, respectively.
