According to a 2022 forecast, over 80 percent of the distribution transformers sold in China between 2022 and 2027 will be of the dry type, while oil-immersed transformers will make up the remaining share. Distribution transformers are devices used to step down the power voltage at the consumer end of the electricity grid to make it suitable for customers. Dry-type transformers use air as a cooling medium, whereas the oil-immersed ones use oil. The compound annual growth rate of the distribution transformer market in the Asia-Pacific region was expected to be over six percent between 2021 and 2027.
