In August 2024, mail order and online retail sales in Germany were 7.5 percent higher in real terms than in the same period of the previous year. In nominal terms, retail sales in May 2024 also increased by 7.5 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. The difference reflects the higher price level in the retail sector, although the upward price trend slowed significantly over the course of the past yea
