A survey conducted in the third quarter of 2022 reported that music and dance routine videos were the most popular genre on Indian-made short-form video (SFV) apps, as indicated by more than half the respondents. Funny videos were the next most preferred SFV genre during that period. Some successful examples of homegrown SFV apps in India are Josh, MX Taka Tak, and Moj, each with over 100 million downloads.
