A survey conducted in June 2024 among Australian shoppers showed that around 78 percent of respondents had reduced or were trying to reduce the number of new products they purchased. That same year, around 58 percent of shoppers surveyed reported frequently buying secondhand items, as many consumers across the country try to buy used items instead of brand new.
