A 2022 survey of working adults and IT security professionals worldwide revealed that nine in 10 respondents knew they should be cautious of unexpected e-mails. A further 84 percent were aware that e-mail attachments could contain harmful software. Overall, 80 to 90 percent of the respondents knew the basic e-mail security concepts.
