Intra-EU services exports by member state 2022

The value of services exported within the European Union exceeded one trillion Euros for the first time in 2019, before taking a severe hit with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, which proscribed the ability of companies to provide in-person services in particular.

By 2021, the value of services exports had returned to almost a trillion Euros once more, with Germany, France, and the Netherlands being the three largest exporters. Ireland and Luxembourg, two of the smallest member states in the union are also big exporters of services, due to multinational companies having their European headquarters in the two countries to take advantage of low taxation regimes.
