In 2022, a survey conducted in Brazil regarding government measures that are most likely to limit the cost of car ownership showed that just over half of consumers believed reducing taxes on cars was most impactful. Some 45 percent of respondents also highlighted limiting the cost of fuel as a popular initiative.

Consumers responded to the original question: "Which government measures could most limit the cost of buying and using a car?" They were allowed to select up to two answers from the given options. The quota method was used for sampling.
