As of 2023, the number of prepaid cards in Egypt amounted to over 32.1 million cards. This was higher in comparison to debit and credit cards. That year, the number of debit cards in the country reached nearly 25.3 million, while the number was significantly lower for credit cards at around 5.6 million.
