The parliamentary elections of 2023 in Cuba registered one of the lowest turnouts in recent years. During the electoral procedure, Cubans were expected to ratify lawmakers from a list of candidates only from the Communist Party of Cuba, due to opposition parties not being allowed in the country. Overall, 70 percent of Cubans thought there is evidence of fraud benefiting the government during the elections.
