The production output of battery cells in Europe amounted to roughly 70 gigawatt-hours in 2022. This figure is projected to increase steadily in the next few years, reaching a battery production output of 1,374 gigawatt-hours by 2030. However, almost 70 percent of the planned battery production projects in Europe were at risk of being canceled or delayed as of February 2023.
