According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in Hong Kong in 2023 on social commerce, around 58 percent of female respondents answered they never buy things on social media because they preferred purchasing items from the official website or physical store. The second biggest reason to not purchase on social media was their distrust in products endorsed by influencers and celebrities.
