As per a survey conducted in August 2022, a higher share of hardcore gamers used game streaming platforms beyond the purpose of entertainment compared to casual gamers. More than 50 percent watched game streams to improve their technique followed by hardcore gamers wanting to watch their favorite streamers play. Meanwhile, 64 percent of casual gamers chose to watch such content purely for entertainment.
