In Portugal, in the observed period, Facebook was the main social media and messaging platform when it comes to accessing news, selected by 35 percent of respondents. WhatsApp and Instagram were chosen by 23 and 21 percent of respondents, respectively. Ranking last, TikTok was used as a news platform by seven percent of those surveyed.
