In 2021, around 90 percent of zolpidem prescriptions in the United States provided 30 days of supply. zolpidem is a non-benzodiazepine receptor modulator. It is primarily used in the FDA-approved short-term treatment of insomnia. The drug is usually prescribed for two days to four weeks. It is only prescribed for a short period due to the body getting used to the medicine quickly and the risk of dependency.
