As of 2022, men in Czechia were more overweight and obese than women, on average. Only around 30 percent of all men were what, by BMI standards, could be considered average weight. Concerning women, this figure was over 43 percent.

Body mass index (BMI) is calculated as body mass divided by the square of the body height. If the value is smaller than 18.5, the person is underweight. If the value is between 18.5 and 25, the person is normal weight. If it is anywhere from 25 to 30, then the person is overweight, and if the value exceeds 30, the person is obese.
