According to a survey on social commerce conducted by Rakuten Insight in Indonesia in 2023, around 65 percent of female and 60 percent of male respondents stated that they had not made any purchases on social media because they preferred to purchase items from the official website or physical store. The same survey indicated that around 40 percent of Indonesian consumers regularly shopped on social media.
