According to a survey conducted in September 2022, the majority of overseas and Chinese investors stated they considered responsible investments very important. Only two percent of surveyed asset management companies said that the topic was not very important to them. In addition to that, most investors claimed to have considered responsible investments when making investment decisions.

The ESG investment survey was distributed by SynTao Green Finance and China SIF to both Chinese and offshore asset owners in September 2022. The survey garnered 51 valid responses, with 30 coming from Chinese institutions and 21 from offshore institutions. The percentages of these responses were 58.8% and 41.2%, respectively. Of the offshore respondents, 17 invested less than 20% of their assets under management (AUM) in China, while 4 invested between 20% and 39%.
