Monthly income of hotel accommodations in South Africa 2022-2023, by type

As of December 2023, the total income of hotel accommodations in South Africa amounted to roughly 3.3 billion South African rand (around 176 million U.S. dollars). Over 1.7 billion South African rand (90 million U.S. dollars) was generated from accommodation income, whereas approximately 610 million South African rand (32.6 million U.S. dollars) came from restaurant and bar sales. In the period under review, the highest income was generated in August the same year, with about 3.4 billion South African rand (just under 182 U.S. dollars), whereas November 2022 accounted for the lowest value at approximately 2.4 billion South African rand (128 million U.S. dollars).
