Among all types of banking institutions, large state-owned banks were the most engaged in green finance, being at least one institution participating in each sustainable finance product. All large state-owned banks stated that they participated in the trade of green bonds. The Chinese government had pushed the development of green financial products in recent years to support its climate strategy. In recent years, state-owned entities had been the leading force behind the growth of sustainable investment vehicles.
