A 2023 survey conducted in the United States found that 60 percent of adults in the United States thought that social networks should have stricter policies on sharing content of strangers filmed in public without their consent. Around one in five respondents did not think there should be tighter policies on filming strangers in public, and 22 percent were not sure.
