This is according to a market model released in the first quarter of 2025, which placed Germany as one of the main markets in Europe for buy now, pay later. The popularity of Klarna in Germany is a likely cause of this position, as the Swedish provider rolled out in Germany in early 2017. The downloads of the Klarna and PayPal apps in Germany far outweighed that of other known BNPL brands in 2022.
