In the third quarter of 2023, the daily number of hours spent with media consumption in Portugal fluctuated between different media types. The highest value was recorded in case of internet usage, namely seven hours and 30 minutes. The time spent watching television (broadcast and streaming) reached two hours and 53 minutes, while the time spent using social media was measured at a total of two hours and 23 minutes. Respondents spent the least amount of time using a game console, at only 40 minutes per day.

Consumption of different media may occur concomitantly. Television includes content delivered both by linear television (broadcast and cable) and streaming and video/on/demand services. Press includes both online and physical print media. Broadcast radio does not include internet radio.
