What consumers want vs. what streaming services offer worldwide 2022
A survey of executives from broadcast and media companies that own a streaming service, was compared with a survey of consumers of streaming services in 2022. It was found that there are often incongruent ideas about top features that consumers want compared to what the companies offer. For example, 58 percent of executives said that their services offered a free trial or a freemium subscription option (mix of free and paid content), while just 23 percent of consumers stated that they had an interest in this feature. Conversely, 28 percent of consumers said they want to find new content fast, while no executives stated that this was a top feature provided by their service.
