With its "Zero-COVID" policy, China mobilized a substantial amount of resources to its pandemic control efforts since the outbreak. In its latest report, the Ministry of Finance stated that Chinese governments of all levels spent 18 percent more on healthcare in 2022 than in the previous year. Among provinces that published data concerning costs on COVID-19 control measures, Guangdong province reported the highest spending in 2022, which exceeded 70 billion yuan.

The data are listed individually in the "2022 budget implementation and 2023 budget reports" of 22 Chinese provinces. Other provinces and municipalities did not publish figures concerning the matter.
