In 2021, there were 160 ESG funds in China, with a combined market capitalization of almost 400 billion yuan. Since 2019, the number and market value have increased significantly. This is partly due to the Chinese government working on aligning domestic standards with the global financial market, which makes the products more appealing to investors.
