The number of tourist arrivals at accommodation establishments in the Chilean regions of Aysén and Magallanes was higher in 2022 than in the preceding two years, reaching approximately 425 thousand. In contrast to 2019, the year before the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, these Patagonian regions experienced a decrease of more than 43 percent in tourist numbers.
