In 2022, a survey in Africa found that almost 50 percent of respondents from the business sector had confidence in their organization's cyber security controls to identify and mitigate the risk of cyber incidents. However, specialists claimed that organizations should also invest in their response to cyber security attacks. Over 70 percent of African respondents whose organization's experienced a cyber attack recovered from it in under a week.
