Alibaba is a popular business-to-business (B2B) marketplace in China, where the company is headquartered. A survey carried out at the end of 2022 showed that usage rates were significantly lower in cross-border markets like India (35 percent) or the United Arab Emirates (33 percent). In Europe, the Netherlands had the highest share of B2B buyers shopping on Alibaba, with 19 percent.

B2B buyers included purchase managers, procurement managers,
purchasing clerks, agents, purchaser and c-level executives with a purchasing budget of more than 24,000 U.S. dollars in companies with an annual revenue higher than 595,000 U.S. dollars.
