In 2022, the increase in liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports in the European Union was almost 490 terawatt hours in comparison with the previous year, which equates to roughly 60 percent more. Countries such as China, Brazil, India, and Japan imported less LNG in 2022 than in 2021. Overall, LNG exports grew by 227 terawatt hours in 2022.
