Public opinion for continued support for Ukraine varies significantly across countries, according to a survey conducted in February 2023, around one year after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In Sweden for example, approximately 63 percent of respondents thought that they should support Ukraine as long as it takes Russia to withdraw. By contrast, just 29 percent of Italians thought that support should last that long, with 47 percent supporting a peace settlement, even if Russia still controlled some Ukrainian territory.
