When asked whether cycling infrastructure in their local area had improved in the previous twelve months, 45 percent of survey participants in twelve European countries responded that they did not believe that cycling infrastructure had improved. Meanwhile, 39 percent of respondents believed that their local areas had become safer and more usable for bikes.

Data shows share of respondents who selected the options in response to the question: 'For the following question, by “cycling infrastructure”, we mean transportation systems and services that are designed to be safe and usable for bicycles. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the following statement? “The cycling infrastructure has improved in my local area in the last 12 months”.'
Results are weighted.
Respondents were located in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
